Gilbert’s Kosher Foods Limited has recalled its Chopped Liver product because it contains wheat (gluten) but has been incorrectly labelled as gluten-free.
As part of the recall, 250g and 450g packs of the product have been withdrawn from sale. The following use-by dates are affected for both pack sizes: 23 October 2026, 28 October 2026, 4 November 2026 and 13 November 2026.
The recall affects products sold in England only. The product contains wheat (gluten), making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or for those with coeliac disease.
In a customer notice, the manufacturer confirmed that the affected products contain matzo meal, which contains wheat (gluten), but this allergen was not declared on the product label.
Customers with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or those with coeliac disease, should not consume the product.
Instead, they should return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. No receipt is required.
