ProWater to take on ‘misleading’ protein bars
Brainwaves’ low calorie and high protein drink ProWater hoped to compete against what the manufacturer claimed were “misleading” protein bars and shakes in the health food market.
The drink comes in blueberry, red berries and citrus mint flavours and contains 20g of protein and 90kcal per 500ml bottle.
Brainwave ceo Richard Baister said consumers were often unknowingly buying products that contain ingredients they were trying to avoid.
“The [protein] bars and shakes highlight their protein content, but many consumers probably don't realise the amount of sugars, carbs and fats they have in them as well,” said Baister.
“We wanted to launch something cleaner, which delivers high quality protein without wrapping it in the other stuff.”
