Cadbury Dairy top UK chocolate brand
Mondelez International’s Cadbury Dairy Milk took first place in a list of the top 10 chocolate brands by UK value sales, according to market analyst Information Resources (IRI).
Cadbury Dairy Milk had sales of £483.1M, over £200M more than Mars Confectionery’s Galaxy in second place with £223.8M.
The Dairy Milk brand had seen 18% value growth in the 52 weeks from September 15, 2012 to September 14, 2013, IRI claimed.
Nestlé’s KitKat completed the top three, with value sales of £124.9M.
Mondelez’s Cadbury Twirl and Cadbury Wispa also made the list, coming in seventh and ninth place with £72.2M and £68.5M respectively.

Jason McColin, senior insight business manager at IRI, said: “The way that we enjoy chocolate has changed over the past five years.
“There has been a substantial move away from buying a single bar of chocolate to the purchase of multipacks where we can buy three or four single bars at one time, saving money in the long run.”
