The supermarket chain has recalled its Tesco Finest Caesar & Smoked Bacon Coleslaw after identifying that some packs actually contain Tesco Finest Four Cheese Potato Salad instead.
This poses a risk to consumers with a mustard allergy, as the ingredient, which is included in Tesco Finest Four Cheese Potato Salad, is not declared on the label for the coleslaw product.
The packaging error means all 270g packs of Tesco Finest Caesar & Smoked Bacon Coleslaw with a use-by date of 4 September 2026 have been withdrawn.
In its recall notice, the retailer said: “No other Tesco products are affected by this recall. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Customers with a mustard allergy should not consume the product and should instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
