The chilled foods manufacturer has announced a new senior commercial appointment as its CCO departs.

Following a review of its commercial structure, Oscar Mayer has promoted its director of retail sales into a newly created position.

Chris Taylor will take on the role of group sales and marketing executive director effective immediately.

Taylor, who has been working as Oscar Mayer’s retail director since January 2024, joined the chilled foods firm from Ornua. He worked for the Irish dairy manufacturer for 12 years, most recently as its business unit director.

This latest senior appointment comes as Oscar Mayer’s chief commercial officer, Gordon Walsh, departs after just three years in the role.

It also follows a series of executive change for the business. This includes Ian Toal’s and Nigel Hebron’s appointments in mid-2023 as CEO and CFO respectively, as well as Clive Sharpe as chairman.

The changes have been generally positive for Oscar Mayer. Although turnover fell 4.7% to £327.9 million, gross profit has increased 17.1% to £43 million. It has also seen its previous 2024 operating loss (of £9.9 million) transform into an operating profit of £6.3 million (year ending 29 March 2025).
