The East London-based soft drinks firm has recalled its Pineapple Soda drink because there is a risk that the cans may unexpectedly break apart and leave sharp edges, which may cause injury.
As a result, Dalston’s is recalling all 330ml cans of its Pineapple Soda with batch code 037130 and a best before date of 4 August 2027, as well as multipacks (4x330ml) of the same beverage with batch code 037129 and a best before date of 4 August 2027.
In a statement, Dalston’s said: “A packaging defect means some cans may rupture unexpectedly, leaving sharp edges. This may present a risk of injury.
“We’re sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.”
In its recall notice, the drinks manufacturer has asked anyone who has bought the listed products not to try to open them, but instead to safely dispose of them in an external waste bin.
The firm urges affected customers to avoid any unnecessary handling of the product and not to return it to a store. To apply for a refund, customers should contact the company directly.
Dalston’s confirmed that no other products or batch codes were affected.
