The London-based manufacturing group has recalled its Arran Fine Foods Caramelised Red Onion Chutney because it may contain pieces of metal, making it unsafe to eat.
The recall covers all 195g pots of the chutney with the following best before dates: 25 November 2028; 7 January 2029; 14 January 2029; 15 January 2029; 26 January 2029; 27 January 2029; 2 February 2029; and 3 February 2029.
It also covers all 1.35kg pots of the product with the following best before dates: 28 April 2027; 29 April 2027; 7 July 2027; 28 July 2027; 9 August 2027; 16 August 2027; and 17 August 2027.
A statement from FBC read: “As a precaution, Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC) Ltd is recalling its Arran Fine Foods Caramelised Red Onion Chutney with best before dates listed above, due to a risk that some products may contain metal.”
In its recall notice, FBC asked customers not to consume the product, but instead to return it to the point of sale for a refund.
The firm clarified that no other products are affected by this issue.
