The brewery has appointed a new chief retail officer in a global role overseeing the business’s retail offering.

Lisa Buckley is set to join the team at BrewDog as chief retail officer this January 2025.

Before BrewDog, Buckley had been serving as the CEO of Leisure TV Rights, the immersive activity venues company which has brought TV shows such as Ninja Warriors and the Chase to our screens.

Prior to that, she was serving as the managing director for Côte Brasserie and UK operations director at Wagamama.

Earlier in her career, Buckley held several roles within Tragus Group and Casual Dining Group (CDG). During this time, she served in regional, area and central manager positions, overseeing Bella Italia and Café Rouge restaurants.

Now, as chief retail officer at BrewDog, Buckley will be responsible for overseeing the craft brewers’ global retail offering, this includes more than 120 bars and hotels.

BrewDog has been expanding its international foothold, with new sites opening up in Bangkok, Denver, Perth and Rotterdam earlier this year. This marks its first US franchised location and its tenth location in the States, as well as its fifth location in Australia and second Rotterdam-based bar.

BrewDog is also continuing its expansion into major travel hubs, most recently opening a new BrewDog bar at Edinburgh Waverley station and a new ‘BrewDog Arms’ pub at London Waterloo.

The two new locations follow successful openings at London Gatwick’s North Terminal and Amsterdam Centraal Station, as part of a major growth plan focused on the busiest and 'most important' travel spots.

Buckley will be reporting to BrewDog’s recently appointed CEO, James Arrow, who replaced longstanding chief executive and co-founder James Watt earlier this year.

Commenting on her appointment, Arrow said: “I’m focused on hiring exceptional new talent into the business and strengthening our leadership team and I’m thrilled Lisa will be joining us.

“She brings an incredible array of hospitality experience and is a critical hire as we evolve as a brand, develop our crew and customer offer, scale globally and importantly drive profitability across our business. Lisa shares our passion for people, beer and the planet, and I’m looking forward to welcoming her to our senior leadership team”.

Buckley added: “Super excited to join the team at BrewDog! I have always considered it is an exciting brand that has grown exponentially and really looking forward to being part of the next chapter.”
