The US drinks and snacking giant is pulling its Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box after discovering that the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g pack contains wheat (gluten), which is not declared on the outer packaging of the sharing box.
The recall affects all 655g boxes (six packs) with the batch code 107543 and a best-before date of 21 November 2026.
The action has been taken because the product contains undeclared gluten, making it a potential health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or those with coeliac disease.
In a customer notice, a PepsiCo spokesperson explained the labelling error: “The outer box does not have the correct ingredients or allergy information for the Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef 85g.
“The box does not say that this product contains wheat, so it may pose a risk to people with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or with coeliac disease. Please note: the individual bags inside the box are correctly labelled.”
Consumers with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten are being advised to call the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line or visit the manufacturer’s website to arrange a refund.
