Bakery products manufacturer St Pierre Groupe has appointed Sarah Boddy as its new managing director.

Boddy previously served as the group’s head of commercial for the UK and US, taking up that role in January 2023.

Prior to joining St Pierre Groupe, she served as the interim chief executive for The Vegan Kind and before that was the vice president of sales for MPM Products in North America.

In addition to the UK and US, St Pierre Groupe operates throughout Europe and the Middle East where it supplies more than 60,000 retail and foodservice outlets. Its products are sold under three distinct brands – St Pierre, Baker Street and Paul Hollywood.

Based in Manchester, St Pierre Group is part of the Grupo Bimbo family, a multinational firm headquartered in Mexico.

Commenting on Boddy’s promotion to managing director, a spokesperson for St Pierre Groupe said: “After three years with the company, David Wagstaff is moving on to new ventures. Grupo Bimbo has appointed Sarah Boddy as Managing Director of St Pierre Groupe after a year in role as Commercial Director, where she worked to strengthen and expand St Pierre’s business with remarkable impact. Her proven success with St Pierre and in-depth knowledge of the business, made Sarah a compelling choice for the managing director role.”

Meanwhile, Boddy said that the opportunity to step us managing director came at a “fantastically exciting time” for the group and its brands.

I’m looking forward to leading the company on as we continue to grow our share in new and existing markets as a premium, authentic brioche brand,” she added.

We will continue to excel in bakery, leading the category and disrupting traditional retail models and merchandising to win big across the UK, North America and new markets on the horizon.”

Posting on his LinkedIn page, Wagstaff described his time with the business as a “fantastic ride” and praised the new leadership team.

He continued: “The business and brand is now set to transcend from being a challenger to a must have premium French bakery brand, St Pierre will continue to lead the way in quality, consistency, customer service and passion for everything the team at St Pierre do.”
