Morrisons seals Post Office boss to place on board
Troubled retailer Morrisons made a number of new appointments as part of its turnaround strategy, led by sealing the appointment of Post Office ceo Paula Vennells to a place on its board.
Vennells will bring “impressive” experience to her role as non-executive director at Morrisons, gained at Unilever, L’Oreal, Whitbread, Argos and Dixons Stores, City analyst Shore Capital said.
Morrisons also appointed fellow non-executive director Irwin Lee as its chairman for its remuneration committee, following Johanna Waterous’s decision to leave the position.
Former Northern Foods/Express Dairies and Cherry Valley Farms man Neil Davidson also joined Morrisons. Belinda Richards also took over as chair designate of the audit committee.
