Red Dot Square virtual reality merchandising
One of the highlights of the exhibitor list was the launch of Red Dot Square’s 3D8 virtual reality software, hosted by Kantar Retail at its stand.
The software enables retailers and brand owners to test in-store marketing designs and concepts at minimal risk, by simulating what they would look like in a virtual reality environment, viewed through headsets. Part of Kantar Retail, Red Dot Square is headquartered in Milton Keynes.
Chief technology officer Paul Gregory said: “Advances in technology have allowed us to break new ground in the use of virtual reality. Most importantly, the software now runs on standard mobile devices and laptops with a simple user interface.
“By hosting software in the cloud, users can access virtual reality projects from any location, putting the power of virtual reality in the hands of the user.”
