The foodservice arm of The Compleat Food Group has injected a significant sum into a new cookie production line, expanding its capabilities and capacity.

Compleat Foodservice has announced a new cookie production line at its Crewe site, backed by a £600K investment.

The move comes as demand for more premium cookie options continue to rise across retail and foodservice, with consumers hungry for more indulgent, higher-quality sweet treats.

An established player in sweet bakery already, producing cookies for some of the UK’s biggest QSR brands and retailers, Compleat Foodservice has seen demand for premium products increase and is forecasting growth of almost 30% in value by March 2027.

This new addition at Crewe will allow Compleat to expand its premium offering and increase overall output by more than 30%.

The line been specifically designed to manufacture higher-specification products, supporting larger format and filled cookies, as well as products featuring a wider variety of inclusions.

It also affords the manufacturer greater flexibility across formats, size and recipes, allowing it to develop more bespoke offerings at speed and scale.

“As specialists in sweet bakery, we’re seeing significant demand for more premium, indulgent and visually impactful cookies,” commented Helen Bowyer, commercial director for Compleat Foodservice.

“Our customers are looking for support to bring these higher-quality products to market, and this investment allows us to do exactly that, enhancing both our capability and capacity to produce cookies that deliver on exceptional taste, texture and appearance.

“It complements our existing offering, enabling us to support customers across a broad range of formats and quality tiers, while continuing to evolve in line with consumer trends and supporting our wider growth strategy in sweet bakery.”
