Italian cooking brand Napolina has launched four new pasta stir-ins in a bid to offer a premium alternative to traditional pasta sauce.

As part of the launch, the Princes Group-owned firm has introduced four new recipes as part of the stir-in range: Sundried Tomato & Black Olive Puttanesca, Sundried Tomato & Basil, Spicy Calabrian Nduja with Chilli, and Grilled Vegetables.

Each jar is designed to feed a family of four and will be priced at £2.75, with Spicy Calabrian Nduja and Sundried Tomato & Basil set to hit Tesco shelves in July.

Napolina said the new range has been crafted in response to consumers eating out less frequently, but who are still looking for “new and exciting ways to level up everyday home cooking.”

Made in the Puglia region of Italy, the manufacturer added that its new pasta stir-ins are the “perfect solution” that combine “iconic Italian flavours and ingredients” into one product.

Jeremy Gibson, marketing director at Princes Group, said: “We see an exciting opportunity to tap into the UK’s love of Italian cuisine. Responding to evolving cooking habits and consumer need states is a key step to unlocking new value and growth across the category.

“Our innovation strategy is centred on helping consumers recreate authentic Italian experiences at home, combining convenience with quality. The stir ins range is the first step on that journey, bringing Neapolitan and Italian-inspired flavours to everyday meals in a simple and accessible way, proving that delicious Italian cooking is achievable for everyone.”

According to WorldPanel data cited by Napolina, British consumers have reduced their frequency of eating out by 40% to help manage household budgets, but are still seeking moments of “enjoyment and indulgence” that Italian food can deliver.

Established in Italy and launched in the UK in 1965, Napolina has cemented its position as the UK’s number one Italian cooking brand.
