A leading convenience retailer has recalled a chicken and mushroom sauce ready meal because of concerns over undeclared soya.

Spar UK has pulled its Clayton Park Kitchen Chicken & Mushroom Sauce from shelves amid concerns the product may contain soya that is not declared on the label.

This means the ready meal poses a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to the ingredient. The action concerns England only.

As part of its recall, Spar is recalling all 440g packs of the chilled product, across all use-by dates. All stock has been affected.

“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with ”an allergy to Soya or sensitivity to “Soya allergen”.”

The retailer added: “Please do not consume the product. Please return the product to the store you purchased it from for a full refund.

“SPAR UK would like to sincerely apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
