Prepworld is recalling a variety of its fruit packs after testing identified Salmonella in apple and kiwi used in the products.
The Kent-based company is recalling a wide selection of products sold in Tesco, Asda, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose.
Full details listing the 13 different products pulled from supermarket shelves by the supplier can be found on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website.
Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises any affected customers who are experiencing these symptoms to stay away from work, school or nursery until they have stopped for at least 48 hours, to avoid passing on the infection to others.
Customers who have bought any of the listed products should not consume them and should instead return them to the store from which they were bought for a full refund, with no receipt required.
The retailers involved have confirmed that no other products other than those listed are affected by the potential contamination, and have issued apologies for the inconvenience caused to shoppers.
