The Sligo-based firm has warned customers that the presence of the salmonella bacteria has been detected in multiple batches of its Super Sprouts Super Greens product.
Good4U’s recall concerns 60g packs of the product with all use-by dates up to and including 3 May 2026.
If infected with salmonella, consumers may suffer a range of symptoms including fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
In rare cases, salmonella can be fatal; although the groups most at risk are infants, young children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.
The bacteria is one of the most common factors in food poisoning cases; however, certain severe strains can cause conditions such as typhoid fever.
In its notice, the Food Standards Authority (FSA) advises anyone potentially experiencing the above symptoms to stay away from work, school or nursery until they have ceased for at least 48 hours, to avoid potentially passing on the infection to others.
A short statement put out by Good4U on the matter read: “Good4U Super Sprouts Super Greens is being recalled due to a possible presence of salmonella.
“Consumers should return the product to their store for a full refund if they already purchased this use by date of product. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
As part of Good4U’s recall, point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the product.
These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
