Hilltop Food Group had appointed Tom Delaney as its new chief executive officer.
Delaney - who joined the business in 2024 - will be taking the helm of the Hilltop honey manufacturer.
He is an experienced FMCG commercial leader, with previous roles at Tesco and Typhoo Tea; and has served as Hilltop’s sales director for the last year and a half.
Meanwhile, Scott Davies, who founded the company in 2011, will step into the role of executive chairman. In this new position, he will provide strategic oversight and remain actively involved in the business as its owner.
The leadership shuffle comes as Hilltop Food Group eyes its next stage of growth, through NPD, increased service capabilities and international expansion; with a target to scale the business from £50 million in turnover to £100 million.
The end of last year saw the business adding new capacity and capability to its Newton site in Wales, with lines for pie filings, meat accompaniments, sauces and condiments, and peanut butter now in place.
Commenting on his appointment, the incoming CEO said: “It’s a huge privilege to lead Hilltop Food Group at such an exciting moment for the business. Having worked closely with Scott and the team, I’ve seen first-hand the strength of the brand, the ambitious growth plans and the passion for bringing great-tasting products to more households in the UK and beyond.”
“Together, we’re focused on unlocking the next chapter of growth and doubling the size of the business, while staying true to Hilltop’s roots as a founder-led, values-driven company.”
Davies added: “Tom brings real ambition and sharp strategic thinking to the business, backed by a proven record of delivering strong commercial performance. Since he joined, it’s been clear that he shares our vision for Hilltop Food Group’s future, and I’m confident that under his leadership the company is exceptionally well positioned to continue its growth journey.
In other news, The Compleat Food Group has also made a senior appointment with a new technical officer joining the team.
