The new 900ml bottles, available in Apple & Alphonso Mango and Apple & Root Ginger, can be found in the chilled juice aisle in Waitrose from this week, priced from £3.75 (RRP).
Both of the new Daily Dose juices are made from 100% fresh, cold pressed fruit and are free from concentrates, preservatives, and added sugar. Cold press refers to the extraction method used to get the juices from the whole fruits and vegetables.
The beverage producer also uses high pressure processing (HPP) within its production – a non-thermal shelf extension life method. Once the juice is extracted and packaged, it’s placed into a water chamber with immense pressure (8x the pressure found in the deepest part of the ocean), giving the product a longer shelf life compared to pasteurisation whilst locking in nutrients and quality (e.g. flavour, smell, colour).
The new juices, like the rest of the Daily Dose range, are produced in the UK, with ingredients sourced from British farms where possible.
Since its launch in 2015, the manufacturer has seen strong growth, with its revenue on track to reach £20 million this year, growing from £2 million in 2021.
“It’s incredible to see our two new apple flavours on the shelves at Waitrose and we can’t wait for shoppers to discover and try them,” founder George Hughes-Davies said on the launch.
“We’re all about taking perfectly good, wonky produce and giving it a new life, and Apple & Root Ginger, and Apple & Alphonso Mango will be a refreshing addition to the chilled juice aisle. The cold-pressed juice market in the UK continues to grow and it’s great to have Waitrose onside and backing the category.”
The addition of these juices follows two senior appointments for the business earlier this year, including a new chief financial officer and chief commercial officer.
