Ryan Robertson – son of managing director Michael Robertson – has been appointed deputy managing director (MD) with a view to succeeding Michael in the years ahead.
The new deputy MD joined the manufacturer in 2013 after graduating from the University of Nevada with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management. Since then, his roles have been heavily focused in the finance department and strategy, most recently serving as head of finance.
He will be joined on the board by Evan Robertson, who has been appointed operations director, transitioning from the rile of head of operations for the seafood manufacturer. During his ten years with the business, Evan has covered several roles, including purchasing, planning, logistics and production.
Technical director
Also appointed to the board is the firm’s technical director, Kate Richardson. A more recent addition to the business, Richardson joined Joseph Robertson in July 2023, but has 26 years of experience in technical roles in the food industry.
Finally, Ajay Chintalapati has been named director of planning, systems and IT bringing 14 years of experience to the board. Chintalapati started with the company in 2012 and has worked his way through planning and project management roles while achieving a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Robert Gordon University in 2022.
David Kilshaw, chairman of Joseph Robertson, said the new appointments would not only assist the strategic direction of the business but will have a positive impact operationally within the company.

Managing director Michael Robertson said the appointments would future proof the business’s legacy and expand upon its ‘rich heritage’ for generations to come.
