TYPHOO TEA
UK’s second largest tea maker – in pictures
Food Manufacture visited the site earlier this year to share a brew with chief executive Somnath Saha, who is the Big Interview profile for the April issue.
In this exclusive photogallery of images taken while on a tour of the operation, you can learn about the tea-making process, and how Typhoo plans to grow in a challenging market.

Exclusive video interview
You can also view our exclusive video interview with Saha on why he believes Brexit presents an export opportunity for food and drink manufacturers.
His comments come in spite of Typhoo being severely impacted by the post-Brexit fall of the pound, which resulted in the cost of tea increasing by up to 50% in just 12 months.
Formerly part of Premier Foods, Typhoo Tea has since 2005 been jointly owned by Indian conglomerate Apeejay Surrendra Group, and Global Tea and Commodities (GTC) – a UK-headquartered business.
