‘Country’s first’ donkey milk chocolate
Swiss chocolatier Fornerod has teamed up with donkey milk producer Eurolactis to create the country’s first donkey milk chocolate bar, claimed the company.
The chocolate bar is thought to be suitable for consumers allergic to cow’s milk. It is also said to have a longer shelf-life.
Each 25g bar of choclate costs £7.55 (€9) and is presented in luxury packaging, designed to look like a cigar box.
Pierluigi Christophe Orunesu said the chocolate had a high cost due to the rarity of donkey’s milk.
“A donkey gives two litres per day. A cow gives 30–40.”
