Hemp used as drink ingredient
London-based food brand Rawligion hoped to draw on the health benefits of hemp to help sell its new milk drink called Relax.
The drink contains cannabidiol (CBD) a naturally occurring extract produced from the cannabis plant – which has been associated with a number of health benefits – according to the company.
Relax contains a high purity form of the oil from UK suppliers LoveHemp. Due to the methods used in the processing and extraction of this CBD oil, the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, known as THC, is removed.
Tony Calmita, co-founder of LoveHemp said: “You only have to look at the US and Canada to see the future potential of hemp extract.
“CBD is fast gaining mainstream acceptance with a growing understanding of the wide ranging benefits to health and wellbeing.”
