Moy Park sold for £944M
The world’s biggest poultry producer JBS made the headlines in June when it snapped up Moy Park from fellow Brazilian firm Marfrig for £944.7M.
JBS also took on Moy Park’s debt of £200M. The deal would also help Marfrig reduce its debt.
Moy Park posted pre-tax profit down from £8.3M to £5.8M in the second quarter of the year.
What happened next: It was a positive year overall for the Northern Irish firm as it was crowned Food Manufacture Company of the Year in November.
It also announced a £10M investment at its Derbyshire site, creating 100 jobs.
Moy Park also completed the first part of a £20M investment at its Dungannon site, as part of a wider £170Mexpansion.
