Pork chop: 228 jobs to go
Pork processors Tulip and Karro Frood Group announced plans to chop 228 jobs between them this month.
Tulip will cut 78 roles at its Tipton site in the West Midlands as a result of a proposed shift restructure after losing “significant volume with a customer”.
Karro plans to make 150 staff redundant at its Scunthorpe plant in Billet Lane.
Both decisions were rumoured to be a result of Tesco slashing orders.
