Judges’ Star Performer a split
Faced with the dilemma of choosing between two “equally fantastic companies that were doing something quite special”, the judges jointly awarded its Star Performer gong to British Sugar and Dairy Crest.
British Sugar was recognised for the way it is managing change within its business in advance of the removal of the EU’s sugar regime in 2017.
Whereas, Dairy Crest was honoured for its supplier initiative designed to ensure its continued success, while also offering a fair price to its farmers.
Watch our exclusive video with Dairy Crest chief executive Mark Allen to find out why he said the firm would be “holding a mirror to itself”, in April.
