PepsiCo
PepsiCo just missed out on the top spot, coming 2nd in the list of the most sought-after food and drink manufacturing employers.
The company, which was 8th in the top 100 overall businesses, was beaten by Unilever, despite having a workforce of 69,000 people, 13,000 more than the global consumer goods firm.
PepsiCo hit the headlines in January when it announced plans to replace 87 employees with modern packaging machines at its Walkers Crisps factory in Lincoln.
More than just the name behind carbonated drink brand Pepsi, PepsiCo claims to own “22 billion-dollar brands", including Doritos, Walkers, Lay’s, 7Up and Tropicana, which are available in over 200 countries.
Earlier this year, its Lay’s brand came 3rd in a list of the world’s top food brands, after data analyst Kantar Worldpanel tracked shoppers’ global habits.
