South Yorkshire-based firm Underwood Meat Company has acquired Country Park Foods’ subsidiary Bramley Foods for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will enable Underwood Meat Company to expand its food manufacturing to a new site on Chesterfield’s Holmewood Industrial Park.

Bramley Foods specialises in the production of sausages.

Financing

Financing for the deal was supplied by Handelsbanken in Rotherham with advice from Thomas Hall, a partner in Irwin Mitchell’s real estate team.

Hall said:“This deal is a major boost to Underwood Meat Company as it looks to expand and develop its operations in South Yorkshire.

“The acquisition of the company and property is a good news story for the region. It highlights that, even though times remain tough for many businesses, firms in good health are able to take advantage of growth opportunities. We’re delighted to have been part of it.”
