Winsford-based Little Treats Bakery has secured a £500,000 investment from parent company Boparan Private Office (BPO).

The investment will help create around 50 jobs and boost the bakery’s production capabilities through the implementation of a new production line, enabling it to manufacture innovative products including chocolate and protein clusters.

The funding has been designed to strengthen the business following a serious fire that caused significant damage to the facility in 2023.

Little Treats, which forms part of the long-established Roberts Bakery business, rescued from administration by BPO in October 2024, will now be able to move into new areas of the snacking market and broaden its product range.

The manufacturer says recruitment is now underway for approximately 50 new colleagues, including production operatives, engineering and operational roles.

James Rostron, site director at Little Treats Bakery, said: “This investment is a real vote of confidence in Little Treats, our people and what we can achieve here.

“The serious fire in 2023 had a devastating impact, but the team has shown tremendous resilience through very difficult times. We are now looking firmly to the future, investing in new capability, creating around 50 new jobs and taking Little Treats Bakery into new product categories.”

He continued: “The Little Treats biscuit operation is already an impressive business, baking and decorating around 100 million biscuits a year. Adding chocolate and protein clusters gives us another platform for growth and opens up opportunities with new products, customers and markets.”

Little Treats added that it also supports the group’s wider food redistribution efforts, helping put surplus products to good use and supporting communities in need.

In 2025, businesses across the group provided 7.9 million biscuits to charity as part of a wider redistribution programme that saw 162 tonnes of food, equivalent to around 901,000 servings, donated during the year.
