Farm Traders Limited, trading as Parson’s Nose, has acquired premium online butcher Farmison & Co from Vestey Holdings for an undisclosed sum.

The move will see the two high-end online butchers come together as one business, centred around a shared commitment to “exceptional meat, responsible sourcing, skilled butchery and outstanding customer service”.

Farm Traders Limited is owned and run by husband-and-wife directors Tony and Serena Hindhaugh.

Through Parson’s Nose, the company operates four London butcher shops in Fulham, Belgravia, South Kensington and Putney, alongside a nationwide online delivery business.

Founded in 2007, Parson’s Nose works directly with leading British farmers and claims to have achieved average annual growth of 17% since 2020 through its online business.

Farmison & Co was founded in Yorkshire in 2011 and became known for sourcing heritage-breed meat from British farmers and delivering high-quality produce directly to customers’ homes.

The brand has previously been named Online Butcher of the Year and has become a leading name in premium online butchery.

“We are extremely excited about the Farmison acquisition. We have watched the brand’s journey, admired its strong values and always recognised the enormous affection customers have for it,” said Tony Hindhaugh, director of Farm Traders Limited.

“We are fully aware of the turbulence Farmison has experienced, but its founding principles align naturally with those of Parson’s Nose: exceptional British meat, trusted relationships with farmers, knowledgeable butchery and first-class customer service.”

He added: “Operationally, Farmison fits seamlessly with our existing business. From day one, our new Farmison customers will receive the same care, quality and dependable service that Parson’s Nose customers already expect. Our ambition is simple: we want to bring the Farmison back to Farmison.”

The acquisition follows a period of significant change for Farmison. After entering administration in 2023, the business was rescued by a consortium led by former Asda chief executive Andy Clarke.

Under its new ownership, Farmison will benefit from Parson’s Nose’s “established sourcing relationships, operational infrastructure, nationwide fulfilment capabilities and customer-service expertise”.

The acquisition forms part of Farm Traders Limited’s long-term strategy to build a leading premium British butchery group.
