Vinca and Kingsland Drinks have extended their partnership as the organic wine company has added 75cl aluminium wine bottles alongside its existing canned wine formats.
The new capability will see Kingsland Drinks producing Vinca red, white and rosé wines in 75cl aluminium bottles, in addition to the brand’s established range of organic Sicilian red, white, rosé and sparkling wines already produced in cans at Kingsland Drinks’ Irlam facility.
Vinca, the wine start-up which was launched in 2021 by Zak Walters, Jack Green and Charlie Vass, already produces red, white and rose wines in 187ml cans, plus sparkling options in 200ml cans in partnership with Kingsland Drinks.
Kingsland Drinks said this strategic investment has broadened its alternative format offering enabling it to meet growing demand for more sustainable, lightweight and recyclable packaging solutions across the wine category.
The glass wine bottle alternative is made from 100% post-consumer recycled aluminium, which can be recycled after use. Kingsland Drinks said that the widespread collection also helps to reduce Extended Producer Responsibility fees and drive stronger compliance performance.
The bottles weight 70g versus an average 450g glass bottle, which according Kingsland, helps to cut transport emissions and improve logistics as well as delivering up to four times lower CO₂ emissions than a comparable glass bottle.
Paul Braydon, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Kingsland Drinks, said: “Alternative formats are no longer niche – they’re becoming an essential part of how the wine category evolves. Our investment in aluminium bottle capability is about giving brands like Vinca the freedom to innovate while maintaining quality, scalability and sustainability at the core.
“We already produce Vinca’s full canned range and extending that partnership into 75cl aluminium bottles is a natural next step. It reinforces our role as a long-term, full-service partner that invests in infrastructure and technical advancement ahead of demand to support our customers’ ambitions.”
Jack Green, co-founder of Vinca, added: “Aluminium bottles are already an important part of our range, delivering the sustainability benefits we care about while retaining the familiarity of a 75cl bottle for consumers. Bringing production to Kingsland Drinks gives us greater confidence around quality, scale and long-term partnership, while allowing us to localise production closer to market.”
Vinca aluminium bottles are stocked in Tesco, M&S and in online retailers with distribution set to expand in 2026.
