Crafted in collaboration with the Football Association (FA) and the Scottish Football Association (SFA), the cupcakes will capitalise on the inevitable patriotic fervour that will arise this summer, with both nations travelling to the FIFA World Cup in North America.
Finsbury Food Group’s cupcakes will grace Tesco bakery aisles from 1 June, shortly ahead of the tournament’s opening match on 11 June, with an RRP of £6.00 per pack.
Both packs of nine vanilla cupcakes are officially licensed merchandise of the respective national teams and will prominently feature the English and Scottish football crests.

The cupcakes themselves will feature the English and Scottish team colours across their frosting, as well as edible versions of the team crests.
Andrew Scott, brand manager at Finsbury Food Group, said: “The World Cup always creates a huge sense of excitement and togetherness, so we wanted to create products that fans up and down the country could enjoy during the competition.
“These cupcakes are designed to be shared and are sure to score big at matchday gatherings and viewing parties throughout the tournament, giving fans a sweet new way to celebrate every goal and nail-biting moment. We’re always looking for new ways to bring excitement to the bakery category, and these products are a great example of that.”
This launch marks the first time the Cardiff-based baking specialist has created cupcakes for a major international football competition. The products build on its long-standing relationship with the FA and act as an inaugural step in a new partnership with the SFA.
The new products will complement Finsbury Food Group’s existing portfolio of football partnerships, which already includes Celtic, Rangers and Liverpool.
