Irish dairy firm recalls baby snack over mould fears

Organic dairy manufacturer Glenisk has issued an international recall of several of its baby fromage frais products.

County Offaly-based Glenisk has recalled 4x60g packs of its Organic Baby Fromage Frais with a use-by date of 28 May.

Recall alerts have been issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the UK Food Standards Agency, and the Singapore Government Singapore Food Agency. In the UK, the recall is Northern Ireland specific.

The mango with apple, banana and oats; strawberry with banana, vanilla and oats; and apple, pear, carrot with oats recipes have all been impacted.

These products have been recalled by Glenisk because they may contain mould, which makes them unfit for human consumption.

firm has published a point-of-sale notice, which will be displayed in all retail stores selling the affected products and on its website.

These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought them.

People who have purchased any of the listed products have been advised not to consume them, but instead to dispose of them and contact Glenisk.

In its notice, Glenisk said: “We kindly ask consumers to discard affected products. Retailers have been advised to remove affected batches from sale.

“If you have purchased one of the affected products, please contact us at info@glenisk.com and our team will be happy to arrange a replacement.”

Alongside its baby fromage frais range, Glenisk manufactures a selection of organic dairy products, including yoghurts such as Greek-style and high-protein, as well as cottage cheese and crème fraîche.
