The meat manufacturer has announced the appointment of Matt Lee as its chief business & growth officer.
Due to start in the newly expanded commercial role in July 2026, Lee will oversee Pilgrim’s Europe’s commercial strategy, retail, brands, insights and innovation across the UK and Ireland.
He joins the business from Hilton Food Group where he most recently served as CEO for UK and Ireland. During his six years at Hilton, which included almost four as chief executive officer, Lee led major transformation initiatives and long-term growth programmes.
His career also spans leadership roles at Symington’s and within various arms of ABF, including British Sugar. Lee is also currently an active IGD trustee.
Pilgrim’s says his appointment marks ‘an important step’ in its continued evolution, strengthening the producer’s commercial capabilities and accelerating growth ambitions across key strategic areas.
“I’m delighted to be joining Pilgrim’s at such a pivotal moment. Following its successful integration, it is a business with strong momentum, a clear vision, and an outstanding team,” Lee commented.
“I look forward to partnering with colleagues across the organisation to build on this foundation – driving innovation, delivering value for customers, and unlocking new opportunities for long term growth.”
Ivan Siqueira, president of Pilgrim’s Europe, added: “Matt’s broad international background, strategic mindset, and passion for growth make him an exceptional addition to our leadership team.
“His experience across retail, brands, and commercial strategy will be instrumental as we continue to evolve, innovate, and deliver for our customers. I very much look forward to working with him.”
