The news comes as the chief executive officer of Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I transitions into a new leadership role within AB InBev.

Brian Perkins has stepped down as CEO of Budweiser Brewing Group UK and Ireland after four years at the helm.

He started at the drinks giant, AB InBev, in 2011, first serving as global marketing manager for innovation; and over the course of his 15 years at the firm, has held several leadership roles. This includes co-founder of Bees - a digital transaction tool that allows customers to order directly from AB InBev.

In 2020, he became chief commercial officer for Europe & Middle East at AB InBev, before being appointed as president for West Europe and CEO of Budweiser Brewing Group UK & Ireland in 2022.

The execute, who has lived and worked in London, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, and Brussels, will remain at AB InBev in a new leadership role. However, the company appears to be keeping details of his new position under wraps for now.

“Brian Perkins is moving into a new leadership role within AB InBev, a move we’re genuinely thrilled for him to take on,” a spokesperson at Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I said.

“During his time here, he strengthened our brands, invested in our breweries and people, championed growth, and was a strong advocate for the beer sector’s contribution to the UK economy. We’re grateful for his leadership and wish him every success in his new role.”

Ab InBev is also yet to confirm who will be replacing Perkins, stating: “The UK business remains in great hands with a strong, established leadership team ensuring full continuity. We’ll confirm the new Business Unit President for UK & Ireland as soon as possible.”

Budweiser’s roots date back over 100 years with the brands’ identity strong focused on ‘celebration’. The beverage has continued to back this connection through live event partnerships.

Across Europe and APAC, Budweiser kicked off its FIFA Club World Cup 2025 campaign with a signature film. Budweiser and Budweiser 0.0 also saw the launch of limited-edition packaging for the tournament, featuring gold FIFA-inspired details.

It also introduced ‘Bud Live’ – a new global platform for music and international shows, with the first taking place in China and featuring band, One Republic. A second followed in Brazil with Maroon 5.
