Premium beverage producer LBW Drinks Ltd has appointed a new managing director following James Lambert’s departure.

Based in Shute, near Axminster in Devon, LBW Drinks has promoted Wolfgang Sieg-Hogg to managing director.

This comes as long-term MD, James Lambert, resigns from the premium English wines, meads, country and fruit wines, liqueurs and spirits maker, which markets under the Lyme Bay Winery brand.

His departure is set for 31 January 2025 according to Companies House (although he left the business back in Feb 2025) and follows 19-years of service.

Lambert joined Itasca Wines/Penncroft vineyards in July 2025 as head of sales and distribution, with his Linked In profile noting a “new adventure starting soon”.

Incoming managing director Sieg-Hogg joined the business in October 2018 as operations manager, moving up to operations director and a member of the board in January 2024.

He brings almost two decades of experience in food manufacturing and distribution, having previously managed production sites for Dorset Cereals and Rowse Honey, as well as spending two years leading a large independent health food wholesaler.

In his new role, Sieg-Hogg will lead operations, sales, marketing and administration, steering LBW Drinks through its next phase of growth.

Commenting on this appointment, he said: “It is a privilege to lead Lyme Bay Winery and continue the work that James Lambert has built over the past 18 years.”

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with an incredible team that is deeply committed to quality and craftsmanship. We are proud to delight our loyal customers and also create innovative new drinks that appeal to different generations, all while using our resources responsibly to protect the future.”

K. M. Ball, chairman of LBW Drinks Ltd, added: “Wolfgang has demonstrated strong leadership, deep industry knowledge and a clear commitment to our people and products. The Board is confident that under his direction, the business will continue to thrive, with a focus on quality, innovation and sustainable growth.”
