Man dies at Yorkshire poultry factory

An investigation has been launched after a man died at a poultry site in West Yorkshire.

Shortly after 7.15pm on Tuesday 28 October, police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending an incident at Station Yard, on Station Road, Bingley.

The man was reported to be seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

West Yorkshire Police say the incident is being treated as an industrial accident and officers are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

A HSE spokesperson added that it is “working closely with West Yorkshire Police to establish the circumstances around this incident.

“Enquiries remain ongoing”.

West Yorkshire Police told Food Manufacture a scene has been put in place as an investigation into the circumstances is undertaken.

The man’s family and the Coroner’s Office have been informed.
