The nut butter brand has launched a new charitable foundation to tackle food poverty and loneliness.

Across the world, 1.9 million people are experiencing devastating hunger – primarily in Gaza and Sudan but also in pockets of South Sudan, Haiti and Mali.

In the UK, food insecurity is also increasing, impacting 14.1 million people. Between 2022 and 2024, there has been a 16% increase of UK households experiencing food insecurity (Trussell Trust data, September 2025).

To help address this global crisis, Pip & Nut has launched a new foundation which will see 10% of the company’s annual profits going towards it, with a guaranteed minimum donation of 0.5% of net revenue – even in leaner years.

This year, the Foundation will fund £131,500 in grants, helping provide more than 60,000 meals to those who need them most. This year’s national, local and international partners, include:

  • FoodCycle, bringing people together through community dining
  • World Central Kitchen, providing fresh meals in response to crises across the world, including Gaza where The Pip & Nut Foundation’s donation is focused
  • CanTeam, transforming school canteens into community hubs
  • Local East London partners

“We’re seeing a growing number of people unable to afford healthy, good food and community organisations under huge pressure to fill that gap,” said Pip Murray, founder and CEO of Pip & Nut and the Pip & Nut Foundation

“As a business built around the idea that good food can do good, we’re proud to be able to support these brilliant organisations – and many more in the future – in their life-changing work.

“Good food and good company can make a huge difference to people’s wellbeing. The organisations we’re supporting create spaces where people can eat, connect and feel part of a community - something everyone should be able to experience.”

Pip & Nut became a B Corp in 2019. Its new Foundation builds on the brand’s ongoing community work, which includes long-term relationships with Hackney Foodbank and The Felix Project, where the business has donated over 150,000 jars of nut butter since 2020.
