Finsbury and Diageo launch Guinness cake

Finsbury Food Group teamed up with beverage giant Diageo to launch a new Guinness Gift Cake.

The cake - which weighs 218.2g and serves four - is hand-decorated, with a design inspired by the stout. It features a coca-dusted frosting top and a Guinness-inspired caramel flavoured filling.

The cake is now being stocked in Tesco and Asda stores across the UK and is retailing at £6.

“Guinness is a household name, synonymous with iconic advertising and a clear identity that inspires creativity,” said Finsbury Food Group brand manager Kimberley Curtis.

“This cake reflects that spirit of enjoyment and celebration and is perfect for gifting to Guinness lovers and marking special occasions.”

Cold, RTD canned soup from Dozz

Romanian business Dozz has brought canned soup - designed to be drunk cold and straight from the can - to the UK, following its launch in its home country earlier this year.

Each 310ml can is low in calories, ranging from 33 to 57 kcal, and free from preservatives and artificial colours.

The range includes 10 different flavours – Gazpacho, Mixed Vegetable, Yogurt and Mint, Tomato, Broccoli, Chicken, Chilli Bean, Lentil, Mushroom, and Spinach – at a RRP of £2.50.

The product also offers a chilled shelf life of 4-8 months depending on the recipe, providing flexibility for retailers and out-of-home outlets, and helping to reduce food waste at home.

The ready-to-drink soup made its UK debut at Lunch! 2025.

“Today’s consumers are time-constrained but more health-conscious than ever. We created Dozz to be an on-the-go solution, something fast, nutritious and enjoyable,” said Ender Bolat, Dozz’s general manager.

Plant-based brand THIS announces NPD trio

The three launches include THIS isn’t Beef Pastrami’, THIS Is Super Veg Protein Bites, and ‘THIS Is Super Superfood Breaded Pieces’.

THIS isn’t Beef Pastrami is a new, ready-to-eat, chilled product that is both high in protein and a source of fibre. Priced at £2.95 per 70g pack and has launched in Morrisons already, with Sainsbury’s to follow from 28 September.

THIS Is Super Veg Protein Bites is a frozen SKU that are high in protein, a source of fibre, and low in saturated fat. These ready-to-cook bites are priced at £3.50 per 240g pack and are available in the frozen aisle at Tesco.

The three new products go on sale from mid-September.

THIS is also added to its superfood range with the launch of THIS Is Super Superfood Breaded Pieces. Made from shiitake mushrooms and broad bean protein, the pieces are naturally high in iron, Omega 3, protein and fibre and contain 100% natural ingredients.

At a RRP of £3.95 per 180g pack, this can be found in Sainsbury’s chilled aisle.

The launch comes as products with high protein offerings continue to prove popular among consumers. Fibre claims have also began to gain momentum, driven by the social media trend of ‘fibre-maxxing’.

Clean label porridge from Quaker Oats

Quaker Oats has followed in a longline of clean label NPD launches with its ingredients featured front and centre.

‘Quaker Oats & Fruits & nothing else’ is made from natural ingredients and contain more than 80% wholegrain oats and real fruit, sweetened with date power.

The breakfast range comes in two flavours - Exotic Fruits (mango, pineapple, and coconut) and Summer Fruits (peach, raspberry, and strawberry).

The launch follows research showing that as many as 76% of UK adults say they read the labels before purchasing food, with 45% paying more attention to labels compared to five years ago. Moreover, 49% consider current labels to be inadequate when it comes to making informed healthy choices.

As well as catering to the demands of simple labels and ingredients, the oats take just 2 minutes to serve and respond to the demands for quicker, more convenient options.

Quaker Oats & Fruit is available at all major retailers for RRP £3.75.

Pistachio dessert pots from The Coconut Collab

The Coconut Collab has unveiled latest dessert pot flavour - pistachio, inspired by the trendy rise of Dubai chocolate.

Dubai chocolate contains pistachio cream, tahini and knafeh pastry, and has propelled pistachio into the spotlight. Waitrose has seen searches for ‘pistachio’ on its site skyrocketing, with the term up 500% year-on-year on its website.

At just 118 calories per serving, the new Pistachio Pots are available in Morrisons and Ocado now, at a RRP £2.95 (4 x 45g), with further retail launches in October.
