Coming in June, the Peppa Pig branded 100% durum wheat dry pasta shapes come in 500g bags and are designed to encourage early literacy.
The pasta is produced by Norwich-based Icefresh Foods following its private label pasta launch in 2024.
Icefresh Foods, which was established in 1983, has had previously experience working with cartoons, with 2021 seeing its launch of Minion Ice Creams into Aldi.
The pasta features main character, Peppa, and her piglet brother, George, as well as a variety of letters so small children can create Peppa-inspired words (with the help of parents).
The products also come in branded shelf-ready boxes, which Icefresh Foods says will provide shelf appeal and easy stocking.
“The NHS advises that in the first 5 years of your child’s life their brain develops faster than at any other time, and you should make the most of every moment by making eye contact, chatting and engaging with what they’re interested in,” said Jill Leigh, marketing manager at Icefresh Foods.
“Everyday moments like meals, playing and having fun help your child to learn new words, put sentences together, and practise having conversations. We are delighted to be launching these PEPPA PIG Learning Pasta Shapes to bring fun, story adventures and most of all tasty pasta to family mealtimes.”
“For us at Hasbro, it’s all about creating joyful moments that support little ones as they learn and grow. Our Peppa Pig Learning Pasta Shapes do just that, turning mealtimes into fun learning opportunities. Imagine the delight as children connect letter shapes and start to spell out their first words! It’s a natural, engaging, and imaginative way to foster early literacy,” added Sally Carnota, senior director, licensed consumer products, UK at games, IP and toy company Hasbro.
Icefresh Foods is part of the Poppies International Group, a global frozen and ambient bakery business. It currently develops and supplies over 500,000 consumer units every single week.
