Food Manufacture rounds up three new product launches within the alternative space, including alt milk brand’s Rude Health’s iced coffee range.

Rude Health iced coffee launch

Rude Health has launched a new organic Iced Coffee range.

The range includes Oat Latte Iced Coffee and Mocha Iced Coffee, which are available in a 750ml chilled format at a RRP of £3.75.

The brand says these are first Iced Coffee products of their kind to be made using organic coffee, contain absolutely no added sugar, and boast a completely clean deck. The new coffees are also gluten-free.

The Rude Health Iced Coffee range is made using a blend of organic coffee sourced from ‘sustainable farms’ in Latin America. Arabica beans have been selected for their superior flavour, and are gently roasted before being brewed in cold water, giving the drinks a smooth, nutty and fruity flavour, without any of the harsh bitterness. This is then blended with Rude Health organic oat milk. Organic coconut milk is also used in the Iced Mocha for extra creaminess and the coffee is blended and balanced with organic cacao, which gives it a rich chocolate note.

“The Rude Health Café has been serving delicious iced coffees since we launched in 2016. They have been increasingly popular in summer and winter so we saw an opportunity to make them available to a bigger audience,” explained Sam Maguire, Rude Health’s country manager.

Bertel Haugen, head of innovation & sustainability for the brand, added: “At Rude Health, we’re passionate about quality ingredients. Just as we source the best oats, almonds, and coconuts for our milks, we take the same care with our coffee. We use only organic Arabica beans for their smooth, complex flavour, grown sustainably on certified organic farms in Latin America, ensuring biodiversity protection. And our coffee is cold-brewed for a naturally smooth, subtle taste vs the standard hot brewing method”.

So far, Rude Health has secured listings for the new range with Waitrose and Ocado.
