Situated at the University of Reading Whiteknights campus, the lab will support RSSL to meet the growing demand for high-precision imaging and measurement. It will mean it can help clients accelerate R&D, enhance quality control, and ensure regulatory compliance.
This lab joins its new analytical testing facility which opened at the same site at the end of 2023.
The new services include a combination of micro-CT, microscopy, and spectroscopy techniques to provide analyses of food products, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
RSSL said it will be able to offer services throughout the entire product lifecycle, from supporting material characterisation and prototyping during product development to providing non-destructive quality analyses and accurate safety testing of complex products. They will also be able to support commercial manufacturing by helping to rapidly identify and resolve production challenges such as contamination and batch-to-batch inconsistency.
RSSL said that the new 3D imaging and metrology services use the latest state-of-the-art analytical equipment, operated by an experienced, multi-disciplinary team, to provide “dependable results and trusted insights”.
