Mobile refrigeration specialist Team Refrigeration is to open a new depot in Milton Keynes in an effort to improve its UK coverage.

Set to open at the start of May 2023, the new depot will help the company meet its goal of providing mobile refrigeration to anywhere in mainland UK within four hours.

Team Refrigeration has invested in a further 15 new trailers at the Milton Keynes site to deliver a quicker, more responsive service and will provide improved support to customers in the London, Home Counties, Birmingham and East Anglia regions.

Expanding operations

Tom Holloway, leader of Team Refrigeration, said: “Team Refrigeration is thrilled to be expanding our operations with the opening of our new depot in Milton Keynes.

"We understand the devastating impact it can have for a restaurant or pub if their fridge or freezer malfunctions, they have to close and can potentially lose valuable stock. We do our best to get emergency back-up equipment out to them as quickly as possible.

“This new facility will allow us to better serve our existing customers, while also expanding our reach to new clients."

Short-term cold storage

A subsidiary of Container Team, Team Refrigeration helps people who need extra cold space on a short- or long-term basis through the provision of refrigerated trailers and refrigerated containers which can all be operated as fridges or freezers.

Founded by Hazel and Tim Edwards in 2002, Container Team provides storage container hire and sales, as well as self-storage and mobile refrigeration services.

In other cold chain investment news, temperature controlled supply chain and logistics specialist JS Davidson has invested almost £1m in a suite of improvements across the business. Formerly Chiltern Cold Storage, the Peterborough-based firm’s recent investments include the installation of a £220,000 new compressor and air-cooled cooling tower.

Meanwhile, supply constraints will continue supporting rental growth, with food producers and manufacturers driving leasing activity.
