Halal baby food brand For Aisha and drinks manufacturer Britvic both announced senior appointments this week.

For Aisha has expanded its team with the appointment of Lisa Canterbury as its new head of UK sales.

Canterbury boasts more than 20 years’ experience in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, having helped to deliver the successful rebrand of Encore in grocery and the launch of the brand Applaws Taste Toppers into Pet Speciality.

As the Head of UK Sales at For Aisha, Lisa is responsible for managing and growing the existing customer base and has the objective of yielding the brand into new customers and territories.

Unfilled gap in the industry

Commenting on her new role, Canterbury said: “I joined the For Aisha team because I could see the potential of the brand and the quality of the product, the number one halal brand that was tapping into an unfulfilled gap in the baby food category, but also delivering amazing flavour and a clean label that would appeal to all parents.

“The transition from the Pet to Baby industry means that I have a good understanding about the importance of emotion to purchase behaviour and how important brand loyalty is as infants grow and their needs change or families get bigger.”

This week also saw the appointment of Munnawar Chishty as the new marketing director for Britvic’s operations in Great Britain.

Industry experience

She will join Britvic later this year from Walgreen Boots Alliance, where she is Vice President & Global Category Director, Beauty and leads their global portfolio of beauty brands No7, Soap & Glory and Liz Earle.

Chishty’s FMCG experience includes considerable expertise in commercial, innovation and digital marketing across a number of iconic brands, including the award-winning John Smith’s adverts featuring Peter Kay and working with the Spice Girls and Gary Lineker on campaigns for Walkers.

Commenting on her new role, Chishty said: “I feel privileged to be leading the talented teams in Britvic Marketing. I’m looking forward to further the company’s mission and building on the incredible marketing plans across the iconic portfolio of brands.”
