Zizzi launches frozen food range
The ‘At Home’ range was developed by Zizzi’s retail manufacturing partner Estom and is now available in 1,200 Tesco Supermarkets and Express stores nationwide, with options for starters, main courses and dessert dishes.
Zizzi has launched 10 SKUs into Tesco stores: a trio of 12-inch long pizzas; five starters; and two desserts – see box below.
In addition to the 10 dishes announced this montyh, Zizzi will be expanding the range in May with three vegan, plant-based dishes: Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni Pizza; Vegan Rainbow Lasagne; and Vegan Praline Brownie.
Frozen category
Research from the British Frozen Food Federation found that the frozen food category continued to outperform the overall grocery market, increasing by 14.4% in value and 11.5% in volume.
The frozen category has also outperformed the fresh and chilled category in value growth – with sales equating to £7bn in 2020.

Meanwhile, last month, ready meals manufacturer Bakkavor launched a new look for its Heat & Enjoy meal deal range in Tesco stores across the UK.
Products available in the range included curries, burgers and Chinese takeaway classics, as well as extras and sides such as chunky chips and pilau rice.
