New look for Bakkavor meal deal range
Available in the supermarket’s main estate stores and through Tesco.com, the revamped range included 27 meals aimed at offering a takeaway experience ‘direct from the chilled meals aisle’.
Products available in the range included curries, burgers and Chinese takeaway classics, as well as extras and sides such as chunky chips and pilau rice.
Catching consumer attention
Hannah Bendon, customer director at Bakkavor, said the new packaging would increase stand out on shelf and attract shoppers, thanks to a new design that helped distinguish between mains and extras.
“With the takeaway and fast-food industry now worth over £18.7bn [according to IBISWorld 2021] and increasingly busy lifestyles as we unwind from lockdown, the demand for quick and easy meal solutions – as well as more in-home dining experiences – is expected to continue to grow,” she added.
“We have worked hard to redevelop the Heat & Enjoy branding to make it easier for consumers to not only locate this mission instore, but also understand the meal deal offer, which is designed to feed a family of four for just £10, making it great value for money at a time when living expenses are continuing to rise.”
