Tetra Pak's new digital marketplace will make product purchasing more accessible for manufacturers
Food processing and packaging company Tetra Pak has launched an “industry first” with a full-scale virtual marketplace for the food and beverage (F&B) industry.

The new platform for food and beverage manufacturers is designed to bring “convenience and ease” by making product purchasing for producers faster, more convenient and simpler.

The marketplace, which is available 24/7, will host several vendors selling products within safety & security, industrial supplies, cleaning  solutions and other areas of F&B production.

Continuous growth

It will initially host more than 300,000 spare parts and consumables from Tetra Pak, adding another 200,000 products for maintenance, repair and operations from vetted sellers. Tetra Pak said the number and variety of products would continue to grow as more vendors joined the marketplace.

The marketplace was created using Mirakl SaaS Marketplace solutions, marking the first time this company has worked in the F&B sector.

“This is a completely new way of doing business for our industry,” said Klara Svedberg, VP, parts and consumables at Tetra Pak.

Digital F&B marketplace

“For the first time, we have a digital F&B marketplace at our fingertips. This will transform the way we serve our customers by connecting F&B manufacturers with leading sellers  across the world. By simplifying and speeding up processes, the virtual marketplace will make purchasing more cost-efficient via a one-stop-shop solution.”

Philippe Corrot, CEO of Mirakl, said marketplaces were taking over the e-commerce world. “It’s about creating a shopping destination where buyers can get everything they need,” he said. “Combining Tetra Pak’s F&B expertise and our digital solutions means we can enhance the way F&B manufacturers do business.”

Tetra Pak works in more than 160 countries and employs more than 24,000 workers.
