Wednesday night (November 1) is Oscars night at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (FMEAs) at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

More than 60 food and drink manufacturing companies and individuals will be competing for coveted FMEA trophies in the 1920s-themed awards evening, hosted by Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson.

On display will be a stellar array of talent from Britain’s biggest manufacturing sector. From small-scale firms – such as Nim’s Fruit Crisps and Moss Valley Fine Meats – to food and drink manufacturing giants – such as Coca Cola European Partners and Bakkavor, this is the night when the industry celebrates the best of the best.

Manufacturing categories

Now in their 17th year, the FMEAs 2017 feature seven food and drink manufacturing categories. Oscars will also be awarded for the Best new use of food ingredients, Environmental initiative, Supply chain initiative, Small and medium-sized enterprise innovation, Training programme and Judges’ star performer.

The achievement of individuals will be recognised with the Young talent of the year award and the Me and my factory editor’s choice award. This celebrates the achievement of the factories featured in our sister title Food Manufacture’s flagship Me and my factory profile.

Me and my factory

The awards will culminate with the overall Food Manufacture Excellence Award: made to one of the companies that won a manufacturing category award earlier in the evening.

There’s still time to book your place at the food manufacturing industry’s glittering awards night. Book your place by contacting Catherine Lyne on 01293 610 439 or online via the awards website.

Meanwhile, thanks to our independent panel of judges, led by the chair of the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink Paul Wilkinson. Thanks too. to our sponsors: Columbus, DR Newitt, Lockton, Michael Page Engineering and Manufacturing, Celsius, Sanderson, SA Partners, PPMA and KDH Projects.
