Food snacking trends are probed from the perspective of sustainable ingredients sourcing in the Food Manufacture Group’s latest free webinar to take place at 3pm on Thursday June 15.

The one-hour online seminar will explore the opportunities to exploit consumers’ growing demand for sustainable snacks ingredients.

Taking part in the webinar, sponsored by the Almond Board of California (ABC), will be Lu Ann Williams, director of innovation at Innova Market Insights and ABC’s senior specialist in sustainable farming communications Danielle Veenstra.

Hot snacking trends for 2017

The latest top snacking ingredients trends will be the subject of Williams’ presentation. This session will focus on the hot snacking trends for 2017 together with consumer’s interest in sustainably-produced ingredients.

ABC’s sustainability specialist will reveal how the organisation is shaping its supply chains to meet consumer demand for sustainable ingredients. Veenstra’s presentation will feature the results of the latest ABC research on sustainable production chains focusing on minimising waste and water use.

Meanwhile, the value of the UK crisps and savoury snacks market was estimated at £2,396M last year, according to the Snack, Nut and Crisp Manufacturers Association (SNACMA).

Savoury snack manufacturers account for about 4% of the total value of the UK food and drink manufacturing sector, according to SNACMA.
