Portable and compact continuous ink-jet printer

A compact and portable entry-level continuous ink-jet (CIJ) printer, that is capable of delivering high-quality two-line codes, was launched by Linx Printing Technologies at the PPMA Total show.

The new Linx 10 will appeal to small businesses that need to code products for the first time or whose potential for business growth is hampered by the use of less flexible, non-digital coding methods, such as print-and-apply labelling, stamping or hand-applied labels.

The portability of the printer means it can also be used as a back-up machine for experienced CIJ users, allowing it to be moved quickly and set up wherever required.

Its compact dimensions will also benefit packing lines where space is an issue.

The Linx 10 is around half the weight and footprint of other CIJ printers and features a carry handle and printhead dock to aid portability.

As well as its small size, the printer can be mounted directly onto a conveyor or production line to save even more space.

A novel feature of the Linx 10 is its integrated automatic line speed sensor, which eliminates the need for a separate sensor attached to the line or a product detector, making set-up on a line easier.

This is useful where the coder is frequently moved between lines.
